Must Read Books for Business Growth
This is a review of the book Start With Why: How great leaders inspire everyone to take action, by Simon Sinek.
As the leader of a company, the title made a BIG PROMISE that I was eager to accept! I am happy to say that the book did not disappoint!
The writing is witty and draws amazing visual pictures. Even though this is a ‘business’ book, it will have you laughing and also cause you to think deeply about how to stay focused on what is REALLY important. As you lead your organization, your team and most importantly your FAMILY- the core message of this book will help you stay true to what is important to you, it will help you remember your WHY when things get rocky! Many strong leaders lose their way when they lose sight of their WHY and START WITH WHY provides the necessary tools to keep that vision focused and strong.
I highly recommend this amazing book and would encourage you to read it and buy lots of copies to share with the people you want to help have a phenomenal future!
This is a review of the book Sometimes You Win Sometimes You Learn, by John C. Maxwell. Review by: Joe Taylor
I learned that even though we always strive for success (which is our desired end result) we actually learn more when we lose. It is better to take action and fail (as long as we learn something from the failure) than to do nothing.
John is a great storyteller sharing stories from his personal experiences along with the experiences of other well-known people who have overcome shortcomings and mistakes on their way to success. He lines out a roadmap to learn from our losses by breaking down the components of how we can learn when we miss the mark. Many people give up too soon when success is not achieved right away. This book gives us the tools to use to recognize that there are lessons to be learned from our defeats and gives us the courage to fail forward.
I highly recommend this book because it encourages us to take action no matter what the end result knowing we will either celebrate when we succeed or learn and grow when we fail. Either way, there is always power when we take action!
